We now have two new boat trips *exclusive* to San Stefano Travel, departing from the local harbour (located just past the church). You can now explore 2 of the Diapontian Islands that you can see from San Stefanos Beach. This trip also gives you an alternative perspective of Corfu as you look back after setting sail!
Mathraki (the island on the left hand side when looking out from San Stefanos beach) is a small island approximately 10 kilometeres from San Stef harbour. On the way to this beautiful destination you will stop of first at the small uninhabited island of Diaplo in between the two rock formations for a swim/snorkelling in the crystal clear waters.
After your dip you will then continue on to Mathraki Island. It has a long sandy beach and two tavernas located one on each end of the beach. The shallow clear waters and quiet surroundings provide the perfect tranquil day out, looking back across to Corfu with the view of Diaplo in the foreground.
This trip leaves the local harbour of San Stefanos at 10:00am and returns at 16:00 giving you enough free time on the island to relax on the beach, have a refreshing swim, take a walk up to the church if you feel more adventourous and enjoy lunch at one of the tavernas.
Our second exclusive to San Stefano Travel boat trip is a day on the beautiful island of Ericusa – approximately 15km from San Stefanos harbour Ericusa is the furthest island on the far right when you look out from the beach. Ericusa is a truly wonderful day out and a chance to explore a new place. With its long, sweeping sandy beach and choice of places to eat and drink as well as an interesting walking route with various points of interest scattered around the island. There is a hotel just back from the beach front where guests are welcome to dine as well as a cafe and a mini-market.
The helipad offers some fantastic views looking out from the island. We have highlighted a walking route should you decide to go for a stroll where you can visit the originial harbour of FIKI. The island also boasts a picturesque old windmill and a village square where locals sit and relax under the shade.
You can relax on the soft sand (sunbeds and umbrellas available to rent if you wish) and keep cool by taking a dip in the crystal clear waters. If you are more of the active type then you can explore the island and see how many of the places on the map you can visit. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the dolphins on your journey over!
The trip leaves at 10:00am from the local harbour in San Stefanos (we provide transfers to and from the harbour for 3 euros per person if you have trouble with the walk to the harbour). The boat returns back to the harbour at 16:00 giving you ample time on Ericusa whether its enjoying the sandy beach and shallow waters or discovering the local points of interest.
